Sick Policy

Your child’s health and safety is my first priority at Lauren’s Learning Collective. In order to maintain a safe and healthy environment and prevent the spread of illness between my clients, I have developed the following child illness policy. This policy serves in the best interest of all children who participate in my learning community. In addition, I am a sole proprietor and do not have access to substitutes should I fall ill..

If your child exhibits any of the following symptoms, please keep them home and notify me by texting (909) 782-9271. Your child may not return to tutoring sessions or learning pod until symptom free for at least 24 hours. We will work on rescheduling their tutoring session when they are well. If your child becomes ill while in session, you will be contacted immediately so that he/she can be picked up.

Symptoms:

Fever of 100.4 F or greater
Vomiting or Diarrhea
Positive Covid, Flu, Strep or other communicable disease test
Unexplained rash or hives
Persistent cough or sore throat (not allergy related)
Mucous - excessive and/or persistent from mouth, nose or eyes
Ear drainage or severe ear ache, suspected ear infection or ear infection
Eye infection or suspected pink eye
Difficulty breathing or wheezing
Exposure to illness through sibling; even if a child isn't symptomatic, they could potentially be carrying germs to a contagious illness without exhibiting symptoms for several days
Headache moderate to severe
Head lice, ringworm (return when fully treated)
HFM - May return when symptoms resolve and sores have cleared
Peak Cold/Flu Season, December-February: If your child displays any concerning symptoms, such as a sore throat or phlegmy cough, please keep your child home to lessen the spread of potential flu like illness
